I'm a follower of Christ, wife, mother, published wedding photographer, sweet tea enthusiast and I adore all things weddings.

Together, my husband, business partner + favorite hand to hold, Trevor, and I make Kayce Stork Photography + Films.

I enjoy writing here on our online journal and sharing the knowledge that I've learned over the years in the wedding industry with not only my couples, but anyone who want an extra hand to hold during this amazing, yet busy season of life!

In my career, I've photographed everything from precious newborns to a past United States President, but my passion and focus has been for the wedding industry for over the past 10 years. I truly love this calling and feel blessed each day!

Grab a sweet tea, or your drink of choice, and take a look around.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Wedding Photography

So much goes into planning out your wedding day. You’ll spend so much time and energy making every aspect of your wedding exactly how you’ve always imagined it. Your colors, your flowers, your gown, your decor — each detail comes together to make your wedding picture- perfect.

With all of the thought and emotion that goes into wedding planning, hiring an experienced wedding photographer that can beautifully capture your big day is so crucial. You’ll look back on your wedding photos for the rest of your life — you want them to be just as stunning as you were that day. But if you feel totally clueless about what to expect from your photographer, things can be a little tricky. Here are a few tips that’ll help you get the most out of your wedding photography.

Get to know your photographer

As a couple, do plenty of research as you’re looking for a wedding photographer. Look through portfolios, ask questions, and try to schedule an in-person consultation if possible. You’ll be spending a good chunk of your wedding day with them, so you want to make sure they’re a person you enjoy being around and can really feel comfortable with.

Don’t skip engagements

Doing an engagement photo session is a great way to “practice” for your wedding day! It’ll be a chance for you to get comfortable in front of the camera and see your photographer in action. Once you see how great your engagement shots turned out, you’ll be able to trust them more on your wedding day.

Create a wedding day timeline and shot list together

Work with your wedding photographer in advance to create a photography timeline. Compile a list of all formal photographs, family combinations, and shots that are really important to you. This will minimize day-of stress and help your photographer know what you expect of them.

Remember: you’ll look back on the memories you made on your wedding day for the rest of your life. Be sure to savor the moment and really enjoy it! As long as you’ve done your research in choosing a great photographer, you’ve communicated your wedding day plans, and you focus on being happy and present, your photos will turn out absolutely stunning!
