I'm a follower of Christ, wife, mother, published wedding photographer, sweet tea enthusiast and I adore all things weddings.

Together, my husband, business partner + favorite hand to hold, Trevor, and I make Kayce Stork Photography + Films.

I enjoy writing here on our online journal and sharing the knowledge that I've learned over the years in the wedding industry with not only my couples, but anyone who want an extra hand to hold during this amazing, yet busy season of life!

In my career, I've photographed everything from precious newborns to a past United States President, but my passion and focus has been for the wedding industry for over the past 10 years. I truly love this calling and feel blessed each day!

So I’ve been doing some MAJOR research on what duties fall on the Maid of Honor here the last few months. One of my dearest friends, Renae, asked me to be one of her Maids of Honor! <3

So exactly what does a Maid of Honor do?! In my research, I’ve found 5 little tips to help make her life a little easier when it comes to wedding planning!

Tip #1

Ask her what she needs from you as a MOH! Does she want a bridal shower? Bridal luncheon? And most of all, BE AVAILABLE each chance you can to help her!

Tip #2

Help her with lists and the planning process. Try to even go to vendor meetings if she needs you! Of course, you never want to be too pushy, but try to help be her memory if she mentioned something she wanted to chat with her florists about but towards the end of the meeting you realize she’s not mentioned just yet.

Tip #3

Be prepared to be her runner on the day of and even after the wedding! Make sure all of the cards are together for her and her new hubby to look at after the wedding. Make sure the gifts are packed where they should go. Answer her phone on the wedding day and make sure you can answer any questions the vendors might have.

Tip #4

Be sure to pack those emergency items that she might need! Tylenol, nail polish, mints, and small, light snacks! Things like this that are easily forgotten!

Tip #5

Help to calm her each chance you can. Encourage and don’t bring every problem to her attention! Sure, she may need to know a few things, but try all you can to help problem solve with the groom, mother of the bride, etc, before you give her un-needed stress!

Please leave a comment below with your tips on being the BEST maid of honor!
