90% of my Brides tell me this is the *most* difficult decision for their wedding. It’s not the dress, the date, the venue, or even the groom, ha!
So what is it?
Wedding Vendors! Choosing the right vendors to be exact!
I know finding a someone offering their services on Google is easy, but how do you find out if they are REALLY the right match for you?!
I’ve asked a few of The Gulf Coast Event Professionals their opinions on what a Bride should look for to help in the planning process.
Let’s see what they have to say!
Jackie of J. Merlau Makeup said, “Have a consultation! The consultation is the perfect time to see if you and the vendor are on the same page to ensure you get the look you want for your big day! Knowing you have the right crew is one less thing you will stress about on YOUR day!”
Marcel Lanoux of Nightshift Sounds Entertainment says, “Don’t take just the vendors word for it, read the reviews from past clients!”
This is so true! To read more about reviews CLICK HERE!
Jean McGrury of After the Proposal Weddings also advises asking for those reviews! “You don’t know what you don’t know! Ask for references from past clients, but also, Google and find them on social media!”
Snaparazzi Photobooth suggests, “Ask to see photos of their setup if a photo booth or even a video to see them in action. This can let you see how they interact with the guest and if they would fit in with your reception. While this isn’t something many vendors will have, if hiring a DJ, or photo booth, you will definitely want no surprises! If no video is available, then I would say ask for photos of their setup, and examples of what will best fit your needs.”
As you can probably tell, there’s a little bit of a pattern here… REVIEWS. Look for them & ask if needed!
I haven’t given my advice yet, but what I had in mind was close to what Jean has said, “You don’t know what you don’t ask!”
Be sure to ask those questions. Even if you think it’s pointless! (By the way, I’ve never been asked a pointless question!)
Come to your consultation with a list ready with the questions you’ve already had, but never be nervous to ask more!
We provide services to make your day flawless and both parties asking the right questions is a key part!
For this blog post, I have one final tip!
I can’t stress enough the importance of telling your vendors what your vision for your day is, but also taking into account what their style is.
Take a long look at the portfolio of the wedding professional you are choosing and make sure your styles are cohesive.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this blog post!
