It’s time for another little blog featuring a few of my more favorite wedding dresses!
I will make sure I credit the bridal boutique just in case you’re looking for the perfect dress for your own special day!
We do have a few tips we’ve learned along the way to share with you! You don’t work in the wedding industry for 8+ years and not learn a thing or ten!
1. Choose a small group to shop with!
While all of your sweet friends only want to see you 100% happy I’m sure, everyone will be sure to bring one thing along for the ride…their opinion.
It’s great to hear why your Maid of Honor loves the dress, but what about if your Mom hates it, or vice-versa? Two bridesmaids yell with excitement when they see you while your Maid of Honor looks at you as if you have yellow polka dots all over your face.. see where I’m going here? If you bring 12 girls you will have all 12 opinions plus YOURS – and let’s be real, you matter most when it comes to choosing the wedding dress of your dreams! This is the perfect time to lead into the next tip we have, too!
2. That special feeling!
It’s great to have an idea of what you want, but so many brides I’ve worked with told me that they went to the store with a few ideas, but ultimately chose a dress they simply tried on because they thought it was pretty, or someone on the bridal boutique team suggested it. Remember the old saying, “When you know you just know?” I think it applies to your wedding dress, too!
3. Shop early!
It can take a while to receive your dress (your bridal shop can help determine the timeline) and you will likely need alterations. I wouldn’t suggest shopping too early if you’re planning a long engagement, but definitely make sure you’re not cutting it too close on something so important. You also don’t want the added stress that your dress won’t be ready in time.
If you’re married, what advice would you give a soon-to-be bride on shopping for her wedding dress? Drop it in the comments below!
hope you loved this post! I have too many favorites, but I hope 5 will do until the next “Wedding Dress Wednesday” rolls around!
