Nighshift Sounds owner, Marcel Lanoux, and I finally had a chance to catch up for a quick Q & A Session!

Q: How did Nightshift Sounds come to be what it is today?
A: Nightshift Sounds Entertainment evolved from my years as a professional musician. I began playing in cover bands as a drummer in New Orleans in 1988. I played A LOT of weddings!
Then, in 2004, I went to a wedding and saw a DJ in action. I was instantly mesmerized! I loved the way he read the crowd and played such a variety of music. That was the beginning of Nightshift Sounds Entertainment, and I went in with a determination to be the absolute BEST in every way possible.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself: What can your brides expect when working with you?
A: I admit that I am OCD when it comes to weddings. This is a once-in-a-lifetime day, and everything has to be perfect! We want to be sure that everyone has a great experience, so we always play a wide mix of music to appeal to ALL guests. Most importantly, we serve as Master of Ceremonies. We handle all the announcements and introductions, direct the special moments and coordinate with the other vendors. We want to be sure that everything flows smoothly, so the bride and groom can relax and just have fun on their special day.
Q: What advice do you have for a couple when planning their big day?
A: Aside from planning ahead, I advise all couples to read reviews of the vendors that they are interested in hiring. Reviews don’t lie! So, see what others have to say about a particular service. Nightshift Sounds Entertainment has over 130 5-Star reviews between The Knot, Wedding Wire and Facebook! And, we are a two-time “Best of Weddings” and “Couples’ Choice” award winner!
Q: How far in advance do your brides book with you?
A: Our busiest months are March through June and September through November. As soon as a couple sets their date and chooses a venue, they should move forward as soon as possible to secure their other vendors. Our calendar books up eight months to almost a year out.
