In case you missed it, due to the pandemic, micro weddings have become increasingly popular. Not a surprise, right!? While I have NOT enjoyed CV-19 one bit, I do like small weddings so much!

But now that you are cutting down on the wedding guest list, which vendors should you still hire?

Officiant

You will need someone to perform your wedding ceremony, so if there is one vendor you want to hire, this is it. If you don’t necessarily want a religious officiant, you can always get a friend or family member to marry you.

Photographer & Videographer

This is your wedding day – you will want to remember every moment. A photographer and videographer are two vendors you don’t want to skip! Yes, you might be tempted to hire your cousin who owns a camera, but the photos and video just won’t be the same.

Professional photographers and videographers, have the right equipment, know which moments to look out for, and can make those small, but significant, edits. And remember, with a micro wedding, you won’t need quite as many hours so be sure to mention this when inquiring.

Hair and Makeup

You want to look and feel your best on your wedding day, so get your hair and makeup done by a professional if you can. On the morning of your wedding, you deserve to be pampered and your hair and makeup are not something you should have to worry about!

Food

While there is nothing wrong with preparing your own food, it’s just one more thing to get done prior to your big day. It’s not a small task either, which is why hiring a caterer is highly recommended. Keep in mind that since this is a micro wedding, the final cost won’t be nearly as high as traditional weddings likely.

You can even talk to your favorite bakery about cupcakes instead of a traditional cake, too!

I feel that hiring professionals for all aspects of your wedding day is probably best, but when inquiring with any vendor, explain that you’re having a small wedding and even have a plan for the ceremony time to share with them. Micro weddings on weekdays are another gem! While many professionals might have a minimum on Saturday weddings, weekdays are often available for small weddings like this blog mentions.
