Every once and a while a wedding takes me by complete surprise. It’s not often, but it does happen!
I was photographing a few details on Rachel’s wedding day for some vendor friends. Things were going as planned, I had the detail photos needed and even had time to chat with Rachel and her beautiful wedding party before it was time for me to slip out and let another Photographer come in and do their job. No, I wasn’t even the contracted Photographer, I was literally only in the area doing a few editorial shots for my friend who was a vendor of Rachel and Kyle’s!
Shortly after I left the venue and was heading to my next appointment I received a call from the wedding planner who dropped some MAJOR news on me. Rachel’s photographer was experiencing one of the ultimate nightmares on a wedding day and couldn’t make it to the wedding… my heart sank for both the bride, and the photographer! Seriously, I know they were both in panic! So I was asked if I could come back and photograph the day. How could I say no to such a beautiful bride on her lovely day? So I turned the car around and back I went 😉
The lovely ceremony was performed by Rachel’s dear Grandmother. How precious is that! The heartfelt ceremony included a special prayer with their Parents. I’m not sure there was a dry eye left.
Upon leaving the ceremony the couple and I ran over to the Lighthouse Park for a few shots before heading to the Slavonian Lodge for the reception.
The reception site was beautifully lite in pink! Pink walls, pink flowers, pink napkins and more. (And we all know that pink is my signature color!)
The cake had a custom spotlight provided by Southern Event Productions complete with a new halo drape. IT WAS GORGEOUS!
*Free Tip!* Want to make your reception one of a kind? Then you need After the Proposal and Southern Event Productions on your vendor list!
The pair shared a first dance to one of my personal favorite songs, too! “Can’t help falling in love with you..”
I loved spending the evening with this sweet couple and their families. After cutting the cake, everyone danced the night away! Nightshift Sounds Entertainment served as the DJ and as always, what a great job!
The couple left via limo right after a beautiful sparkler send off which you can see below! And kudos to Kyle for giving Rachel a dip kiss on the steps. I didn’t even have to ask, yay! Great job, Kyle!
Be sure to leave Kyle & Rachel (OR ME!) a comment below! If we receive 20 comments the newlyweds receive a free gift!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post!
