There are some wedding days that feel like they’ve been plucked straight from the pages of a novel, and Karah and Joby’s wedding at The Old Place in Gautier was exactly that kind of day. Nestled under a canopy of ancient oaks draped in moss, this historic home created the dreamiest, most romantic setting for two beautiful souls to say “I do.”
From the very beginning, every detail was bursting with personality and heart. The pair embraced a boho chic style—think relaxed elegance—with a Southern twist that felt true to them and to the charm of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The florals were vibrant and full of life, with a palette that popped against the backdrop of that timeless home. It was a perfect blend of whimsy and tradition, where laid-back met classic in the most beautiful way.
One of the standout moments (and there were many!) was during the reception. Just when everyone thought they’d seen it all, Karah completely surprised Joby by singing their first dance song! A recording she had made herself! His reaction? Pure magic. The kind of look that makes a photographer’s heart skip a beat. It was such an intimate, heartfelt gesture, and the whole room melted.
But Karah wasn’t done creating unforgettable memories. Later in the evening, during the bouquet toss, she dedicated the moment to her sweet mom, Toni. And not just with words—she had Taryn at The Flora House recreate Toni’s wedding bouquet from over 25 years ago, when Toni and Karah’s dad, Brian, were married at that very same venue. Cue the tears! It was a moment full of legacy, love, and so much thoughtfulness.
Just when the night couldn’t get more fun, the bride snuck away after the cake cutting and came back not just in her fabulous party dress—but with a fresh new haircut! She was glowing, and the energy in the room went through the roof. Everyone was obsessed. It was playful, bold, and totally “her.”
The night ended with the perfect touch of nostalgia: The lovebirds rode off in Toni’s antique Ford Mustang, the kind of getaway that’s straight out of a movie. As the taillights disappeared under the mossy oaks, it was clear—this wasn’t just a wedding, it was a full-on story of love, family, and celebration.
Karah and Joby, thank you for letting me be a part of your day! We’re so happy for you guys!
