I'm a follower of Christ, wife, mother, published wedding photographer, sweet tea enthusiast and I adore all things weddings.

Together, my husband, business partner + favorite hand to hold, Trevor, and I make Kayce Stork Photography + Films.

I enjoy writing here on our online journal and sharing the knowledge that I've learned over the years in the wedding industry with not only my couples, but anyone who want an extra hand to hold during this amazing, yet busy season of life!

In my career, I've photographed everything from precious newborns to a past United States President, but my passion and focus has been for the wedding industry for over the past 10 years. I truly love this calling and feel blessed each day!

Grab a sweet tea, or your drink of choice, and take a look around.

Two Tips Tuesday | Gulfport MS Wedding Photographer

Tips

April 30, 2019

back to blog

Choosing your makeup artist can be tricky. Here on the Mississippi Coast we honestly have so many really great artists to consider. What would I suggest when choosing a makeup artist for your BIG DAY?!

Now let me go ahead and just say this… this is a TWO TIP TUESDAY blog! This is very short and I could throw off ten ideas right now, but I’m only giving two!

Tip #1

Look at the reviews, the photos, social media, etc. So this may seem like I’m throwing several tips into one, but we can pretend it’s one since they run hand in hand!

Also, ask your friends who’ve gotten married here on the Coast who they used for their MUA. Now keep in mind, a makeup artist will often go as dramatic or as glam as the client will want, so even if their style wasn’t yours, take a look at the makeup artists website, Facebook page, or Instagram account, you may love what you see!

Another fantastic idea is to schedule a consultation with them to see if you really click with them as a person. It’s one thing to like their work, but if you don’t like them, then you may want to look another direction!

Tip #2

Secure them early!

You wouldn’t believe how quickly those dates can book up! Ask your MUA how you can secure your spot.

Below is a spring bridal session I photographed at The Old Place in Gautier, MS.

Jackie of J Merlau Makeup was the makeup artist for the shoot. Isn’t this timeless look so stunning on Rachel!?
