In my career, I've photographed everything from precious newborns to a past United States President, but my passion and focus has been for the wedding industry for over the past 10 years. I truly love this calling and feel blessed each day!

It’s been TOO long since I’ve shared wedding inspiration ideas and tips! See below for a beautiful moment and tips for your wedding timeline.

We all love beautiful wedding portraits but sometimes wedding day schedules go a little crazy and you start to wonder how on earth you’ll get the shots you really want!

Over my years of photographing weddings, I definitely have some tips to share!

1. Discuss it with your vendors

As professionals, we understand things are going to happen that might cause us to run a few minutes behind, but discussing the day a week or so before with your vendors will certainly help!

Copy all of your main vendors in one email to make sure everyone is on the same page. If your makeup artist knows that your photos need to start by 1:30, she will be able to tell you if your start time should be changed. I always recommend giving yourself at least a 15-minute gap to give yourself extra time for the little surprises.

2. Don’t sweat the little things

I’ve seen the sweetest bridesmaids want to literally adjust every piece of lace on the bride’s dress. While this is so kind of her wanting to take care of her friend, spending 2 minutes per photo adjusting the bottom of the gown just isn’t going to work for your timeline. Designate one person to help keep an eye on the dress, but I promise you, in the photos, you won’t see that tiny piece of lace at the bottom that’s not perfectly straight. Some of my shots that everyone wants to recreate are actually candids a lot of times!

3. Explain the timeline beforehand

Let the bridesmaids know what time they must be ready for photos, for example, if photos are to start at 2:00, tell the maids to be ready at 1:45. Those extra few minutes will help everyone! The same idea for the groomsmen and the family, also.

Having a list for me with the family members needed is always a huge help to keep the timeline on track.
