I’m a follower of Christ, wife to Trevor, mama, published wedding photographer, and sweet tea enthusiast who adores capturing love stories. I love photographing throughout Biloxi, MS and New Orleans, LA for weddings.

Together, Trevor, my husband, business partner, and favorite hand to hold, and I make up Kayce Stork Photography + Films. It is our joy to serve couples during one of the most meaningful seasons of life, offering not only beautiful memories but peace of mind along the way.

I enjoy writing here on our online journal, sharing tips, insights, and encouragement from over a decade in the wedding industry. Whether you are one of our couples or simply looking for an extra hand to hold through the planning process, I hope you find something helpful and heartfelt here.

Throughout my career, I have photographed everything from precious newborns to a United States President, but weddings have been my passion and focus for over 10 years. I truly love this calling and feel so grateful to do what I do each day.

Grab your drink of choice and make yourself at home. I am so happy you are here!

It’s Timeless Tuesday! So what better day to share tips for a wonderful tradition like engagement portraits?

Fairhope Alabama Engagement Session

We love to share Q&A’s from some of our fabulous clients!

“When should we book our Engagement Session?”

There’s really no right or wrong answer to this question. I personally give my brides the following advice when deciding on engagement portrait dates.

Are you planning to use them for save the dates? Save the dates should be sent out 6-7 months before the wedding date. If you are desiring to send out a photo with your save the dates, then you’ll want to do the photoshoot anywhere from two to three months before the cards are due. This gives your photographer time to retouch your photos and also allows time for the ordering process.

If you’re not opting for save the dates, anywhere from 3-9 months before the wedding is normally fine for your engagement session. I’ve had brides want to do their portraits as soon as they were engaged, but I’ve also had some that wanted to wait until closer to the wedding date.

As most already know, the Biloxi Coast can be VERY HOT during certain months and make your photoshoot uncomfortable. So if your hair turns into a lions mane, or you worry about your clothes sticking to you, we can always opt for a cooler time of the year to do your photoshoot.

We even have some indoor options if you need them!

Are you planning to display prints or books at the reception? Many couples have a sign in book at their reception featuring their portraits, while some choose to display their photos on easels and tables.

If ordering prints you will always want to allow for printing time and delivery. Some canvas products can take as long as four weeks production time, plus shipping. I would suggest giving yourself a solid two months to order prints, and other products. While two months may sound like a long time, you’ll want to plan for any printing errors or accidents you may not see coming. Always be prepared for the unexpected, right?
