As your big day approaches, below are a few things to be aware of as you prepare for your wedding photos. Our sweet friend, Renae, of After the Proposal Weddings & Events, also gave us some incredible tips that you can read below.

Are you ready to see those tips? Here we GO!

Your hair can make a difference

There are so many beautiful hairstyles to choose from but when it comes to what works best for your wedding photos, here are a few things to consider! You should know that wearing your hair down can obscure your face. This is not to say that you shouldn’t wear your hair down at all but it’s best to make sure that your hair is slightly pulled back on the sides to make sure you are seen.

“Always take the time to read reviews and meet with your stylist before the wedding! A great time to do your trial is during your bridal session.”

How you stand matters

If you want to look amazing in your wedding photos, angle your body towards the camera instead of facing it head on. Another great tip is to put your weight on your back foot and point your front foot towards the camera. This is something I will remind you of during the engagement and bridal session, also!

“Trust your photographer to help pose you, but speak up if you feel too uncomfortable with your pose, or angle.”

Watch those arms

Don’t keep your arms right against your body, there should be a slight gap. This small change will make you look slimmer and will define your waist. It will even change the shape of your arms by making them look smaller. What bride doesn’t want great arms and a defined waist, right!!??

“Always be sure to keep your bouquet at your belly button and not too high. This is something I remind each bride!”

Stay out of the sun

While a golden tan looks wonderful, you just might regret ending up with tan lines on your wedding day! Especially if you’re wearing a strapless or backless wedding gown, tan lines will cause distraction away from your lovely gown! Leave the sun tanning for the honeymoon, or opt for a tanning bed to avoid lines.

Use your hands

Instead of letting your hands hang at your sides, hold your bouquet or rest your hands on your hips. This is particularly important during your getting ready shots. Put some perfume on, look out the window or admire your dress. I will also help in making sure your hands don’t look awkward should the need arise!

“Mix the poses up if you feel comfortable enough to do so! If not, trust Kayce to lead you along the way!”

Having the best wedding photos

Watch those fingernails

A manicure is a must for your wedding day, especially for those beautiful ring shots. If you’re wearing open toe shoes, get a pedicure too. It’s so worth it! Plus, you get the chance to be pampered, and we both know you deserve it!

“Take the time to pamper yourself through this process and don’t stress the small details!”

Get some shut eye

A bride needs her beauty sleep so make sure that you get enough rest the night before. You don’t want to look fatigued on your big day. As excited as you’ll be, make sure to allow yourself time to rest!
